Airport - Negombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and travel a short distance to the beach town of Negombo. Settle into your accommodation and unwind after your flight with leisure time by the hotel pool or on the golden sands of the nearby beach. This gentle start eases the whole family into Sri Lanka’s relaxing coastal vibe.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage - Sigiriya

Begin the day visiting the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where children and adults alike can enjoy feeding and  watching elephants bathe. Continue your journey to Sigiriya, part of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. In the evening, take a  climb up Pidurangala Rock to watch a spectacular sunset over the surrounding wilderness.

Sigiriya Rock - Habarana Village Tour

Wake early to ascend the ancient Sigiriya Rock Fortress, admiring frescoes and panoramic views that captivate both kids  and adults. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional bullock cart ride through local villages followed by a tranquil catamaran  ride and a hearty village lunch featuring authentic Sri Lankan dishes. Parents may choose to relax with an optional  Ayurvedic head massage in the evening.

Dambulla - Matale spice garden - Kandy

Enjoy a short morning visit to the stunning Dambulla Cave Temple, renowned for its vibrant Buddha statues and murals.  Next, stop at the spice gardens in Matale to explore aromatic plantations and learn about local herbs. Conclude the day  with an enchanting Kandyan dance performance, showcasing colorful costumes and traditional rhythms.

Kandy

Visit the lush Peradeniya Botanical Gardens filled with exotic plants and giant trees. Take a peaceful walk or a paddle  boat ride around Kandy Lake and then explore the revered Temple of the Tooth, a treasury of Buddhist culture. The day  combines natural beauty with spiritual heritage, appealing to visitors of all ages.

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Take one of the world’s most scenic train rides from Kandy to Nanu Oya, passing rolling tea plantations and misty hills.  Visit a tea factory to witness the process behind Sri Lanka’s famous Ceylon tea. Explore Gregory Lake park with fun  activities such as swan boating and pony rides, perfect for families to unwind.

Ella

Travel by road to Ella, stopping at the picturesque Ramboda Falls. Enjoy an easy hike to the iconic Nine Arch Bridge and  then take a gentle family climb up Little Adam’s Peak. Relax in a cozy mountain lodge with breathtaking views, perfect  after an active day.

Ella – Yala

Drive to Yala National Park’s vicinity and check into your family-friendly safari lodge. Spend an afternoon relaxing by the  pool or exploring the gardens where kids can play safely, gearing up for the next day’s wildlife adventure.

Yala - Mirissa Beach

Embark on an early morning jeep safari through Yala National Park where you can spot elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles,  and if lucky, elusive leopards. After the safari, drive to Mirissa for a beachside overnight, allowing time to rest or explore  the coastal town.

Enjoy a full day of relaxation on Mirissa’s sandy beach, perfect for family fun and swimming. Optional activities include a  whale watching cruise during the peak season (December to April) or a day trip to Galle Fort to explore its colonial  charm, lighthouse, and tasty ice cream shops.

Departure

Travel along the scenic southern expressway back to the airport for your flight home. Optionally stop at the Turtle  Hatchery in Kosgoda for a brief visit, giving children an educational opportunity before departure.
